Lunch Arrangements
The
school canteen is run by parent volunteers and operates each Friday.
Order forms are sent home each Thursday. Orders are to be returned in
a sealed and taped envelope, with the payment enclosed, the following
day.
We ask that when the school canteen is operating that you patronise the canteen and not allow your child to buy at the shop.
Children can buy lunch from the shop opposite the school. It is the child’s responsibility to place orders in the box provided outside the school office. From February 2007 food purchased from the shop will need to meet the policy guidelines of the Department of Education and Training. At lunchtime the lunches are delivered to the office and the children collect them from there.
Students eat their lunch in classrooms at 1:30 p.m. daily.
Students are encouraged to have fruit in their lunch each day and especially on Fridays for “Fruit Friday”. The Government provides fruit for students in years P-2 on Fridays.
They are permitted a fruit break during the morning teaching session and time in the classroom to eat at the beginning of morning recess.
Parents are urged to purchase lunch boxes, which contain a cooling compartment as foods deteriorate quickly on a hot day.
